Toronto’s getting a daylight saving skating experience with free coffee

The Bentway is honouring its final day of skating in Toronto, which so happens to be daylight saving time, with a whimsical coffee and pyjama party on ice.

On March 8, 2026, the beloved skating destination will welcome skaters one last time before it wraps up for the season. But before it does that, The Bentway will give back with Daylight Saving Skate.

What to expect at The Bentway

“Ease into the time change with a hot coffee and a final celebratory glide along the skate trail before we say goodbye to the ice for the season,” shares organizers.

“Daylight saving steals an hour of sleep, and we’re giving it back the best way we know how: on the ice.”

Everyone is invited to reset their internal clocks with some free, fresh coffee brews and an extra hour of skating. Oh, and pyjamas are encouraged.

The Skate Trail will open an hour earlier, starting right at 11 a.m. “Come bundled up, move at your own pace, and savour the longer days ahead,” shares The Bentway.

Skate rentals will also be available.

Whether you’re sporting a onesie, a matching set, or even bathrobes under your parkas, it’s all welcome.

Get ready to say goodbye to winter and welcome an extra hour of sunlight this weekend.
