Calgary-born Tate McRae named the newest face of Maybelline New York

From Jimmy Fallon to Spotify, award shows and Billboards, Calgary’s Tate McRae is a pop icon and as of recently Maybelline’s newest ambassador!

“I’ve obviously dreamed of being a face of a company like Maybelline my entire life,” she told People in February Interview.

“As a little girl, it’s such a big goal. I didn’t even think they knew who I was until they just reached out one day and were like, ‘We would love to work with you.’ I was so honoured,” – and honestly, who wouldn’t be!

In addition to this, she has will also be the voice for the brand’s new mental health initiative, Brave Together – an online resource that they hope will inspire open and honest conversations about anxiety and depression.

Before McRae found fame, she actually attended Western Canada High School (on 17th Avenue) and even appeared on SYTYCD: The Next Generation – where she placed 3rd.

Since then she’s released two massive hits, You Broke Me First and She’s All I Wanna Be, and has kicked off a tour that has booked spots across North America and Europe before she joins Shawn Mendes this fall.

While no Calgary dates are on her schedule right now, we are extremely proud to call Tate McRae one of our own and can’t wait to see what she does next!
