One of Vancouver’s most iconic summertime traditions is set to bring together the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and hundreds of classical music lovers for a magical evening you won’t soon forget. Whether you make it a Saturday destination or are just passing through, the sounds of an open-air symphony are for everyone.
Last year, the open-air symphony featured well-loved music from Star Wars and Harry Potter. While details about this year’s program aren’t quite out yet, the outdoor concert will be moving to David Lam Park temporarily, as the Water Supply Tunnel project continues at Sunset Beach.
If past years are any indication, park-goers can expect a handful of food trucks to be parked onsite, with spaces to enjoy the concert available on a first-come, first-served basis. So don’t forget your picnic blankets and low chairs!
As downtown parking is already pretty limited, it’s encouraged to take transit, bike, or make your way to the mesmerizing outdoor event on foot. Given it’s around sunset time, the journey may be just as beautiful as the reward.
The outdoor concert will take place on Saturday, July 11, at David Lam Park.
Stay tuned for more details about this year’s Symphony at Sunset to come this June.
