Making waves: Alberta’s giant floating waterpark is now open & here’s what to know

Summer is here and the heat is on! This year, just like the last – the forecast is calling for some extreme temperatures and if we learned anything back in 2022, it’s that we’re going to need somewhere to cool off. Luckily, when it comes to the sunny season, Sylvan Lake has it all figured out!

Located just outside of Red Deer, Alberta, the Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash Park is THE place for sizzling summer days and they’re now open!

With launch pads, trampolines, an obstacle course, slides, a 15-foot tower, and more – Sylvan’s ginormous floating playground is truly one of a kind – though we should mention that on blistering days, it can get pretty busy.

However, unless the idea of having fun in the sun sounds miserable – it’s definitely worth checking out!

Full-day passes are $38 and will grant you access to the water park from open to close, but they also offer $17 hourly admission, half-day passes, and a 20% discount for being there an hour early.

It’s going to be a spicy season, Alberta – and you won’t want to miss a beat!
