This is the best place to watch the sunrise in Canada, according to a new list

If you’re going to wake up before the sky does, it’s got to be worth it – luckily, if you live in, or have a future trip planned to visit Alberta, you can catch a display that’ll knock your socks off. According to Mornings.co.uk, Moraine Lake in Alberta is the best place to watch a sunrise in all of Canada.

Using data collected by Tripadvisor in November of 2021, the overseas website – which is dedicated to the world’s early birds – ranked places all around the globe where customers had mentioned sunrises in their review.

By compiling a complete list, they were able to rank which destinations were revered for their morning displays in each country, and low and behold – Alberta’s Moraine Lake made the cut.

Among the list of other locations which included Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Haleakala Crater in the US and the Taj Mahal in India, this Banff National Park destination overlooks incredible turquoise waters and is nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.

A world-famous photo-op and a must-see for tourists and locals alike, we can’t say that we’re surprised it found its way onto their ‘best sunrise in Canada’ collection, but it is pretty cool to see – especially considering how exclusive the list was.

Alternatively, the CN Tower in Toronto snagged the spot for the best sunset in Canada, and we can respect that.

The people of Tripadvisor have spoken and these are results we can get behind.

Happy viewing, Canada!
