Stampede to offer ‘throwback Thursday’ prices plus FREE admission for new grads & 3 friends

The year is 1999 and some of you are graduating high school… those of you who aren’t? Well, we’d be willing to bet that you were waiting for the bell to ring so you could get home to watch the Disney Channel. Fast-forward to today and sadly those who have recently said goodbye to high school and post-secondary haven’t been able to enjoy a graduation ceremony in two years and the rest of us are at work instead of gym class… also, we have to pay an arm and a leg to get into the Calgary Stampede.

Times are tough, luckily though – the organization behind the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth has come up with a solution to ALL of our problems – but this one is a two-parter so buckle in.

Now, let’s start with why we took you back to ’99.

It’s no secret that the Stampede has gotten more expensive since the time of Tamagotchi’s and pucca shells and it sucks, but it’s our reality. For this reason, the organization has decided to throw us a bone this year.

This ‘Throwback Thursday’ the Stampede will actually be charging guests $9 admission, which is what it cost to enter (you guessed it) in 1999.

Our second order of business? The grads!

It’s no prom, but it is a party! For those of you who missed convocation, the GOSOE will actually be slashing the price completely for you and 3 friends or family as long as you can prove that you received your diplomas and certificates in either 2020 or 2021.

This offer will be valid between the 14th and the 18th of July as a graduation gift from the Stampede to Calgary students – which is a heck of a lot more than we ever got when we walked the stage.

While service charges may still apply, these FREE tickets may be claimed both online and at the gates. Pretty sweet of them, right?

Now, go dust off those boots, folks – you’ve got some celebrating to do!
