St. Patrick’s Day is coming up this month, which means it’s time to dig out your green clothes and accessories from your closet and make some plans ASAP. Need a couple of ideas to get started? Here are 7 ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Vancouver this year.
Now in its second year, The Road to Dublin will bring the spirit (and spirits) of St. Patrick’s Day to two Freehouse Collective locations in Toronto and Vancouver respectively, and Vancouver’s location will be at The Ballyhoo.
Here, visitors can enjoy curated menus inspired by the famed Jameson Distillery in Dublin, enjoy live music, and participate in cocktail-making seminars. Oh, and the chance to win a trip for two to Dublin and a VIP Jameson experience!

Who’s ready to party with the Irish? Western Canada’s largest Celtic festival, CelticFest, is taking place in Vancouver in just a few short weeks, and it’s the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in Celtic culture and music for St. Patrick’s Day.

The historic Vancouver Odd Fellows Hall is hosting a night of Irish entertainment and dancing on Saturday, March 18th, as a fundraiser for the Make-a-Wish foundation. The event will commence at 7 pm and include live music by Canada’s leading Celtic Folk rock band, Blackthorn, as well as the Watt Irish Dancers.

Starting at 8 pm on Friday, March 15th, Gastown Pub Crawl will put on another crawl starting at Portside Pub. In addition to a scavenger hunt competition and costume contest, participants will gain one free shot at four different bars (with any drink purchase), and get free cover at two party bars and one nightclub.

From 8:30 pm to 1:30 am on Saturday, March 16th, there will be a BCIT student-led pub crawl to multiple bars and nightclubs in downtown Vancouver, starting at The Yale Saloon. Next, participants will head to Twelve West and Aura, and end the night off at the Cabana Lounge.

The Cultural Croatian Centre is hosting a memorable St. Patrick’s Day celebration with music by Duo Zrinjski. So get ready to some live music, dancing, and pub fare all night long!
