B.C.’s new elevated boardwalk is turning into an enchanted forest filled with holiday magic

B.C.’s new elevated boardwalk experience launched in Squamish this August, and over the holidays, the area is transforming into an enchanted forest filled with holiday magic in the making.

Constructed by Ridge North America, the 1.5 km-elevated boardwalk takes visitors through canyon cliffs, along the meandering Mamquam River, and towards the base of Mamquam Falls. It offers visitors the chance to safely view giant coastal trees, fascinating geology, and interpretive features that showcase the ecological and cultural significance of Squamish.

There’s also a Forest Lounge where guests can gather for a warm sip, a forest-themed play area for kids, and a local artisan market.

Enchanted forest and festive activities

For the holiday season, Squamish Canyon will open its Enchanted Forest, featuring a lineup of holiday-themed activities inspired by woodland creatures and holiday nostalgia. The canyon will come to life with twinkling lights, playful woodland-themed displays, and plenty of photo ops in between.

Oh, and children aged 12 and under receive free admission from Dec. 13, 2025, to Jan. 4, 2026, making this a great experience for the whole family to enjoy together!

Guests can go on a self-guided search for hidden forest friends, settle in for story time at the Forest Lounge every Sunday, or cozy up for holiday movies on the boardwalk. There will also be Gingerbread Cookie Decorating and photo ops with “Santa Paws” – the jolliest bear in town.

Those who are looking for NYE plans can take advantage of Squamish Canyon’s Noon-Years Eve Party on Dec. 31, 2025, which will include live music, decorations galore, games, and a family-friendly countdown to noon. Perfect for those of us who prefer to get to bed at a decent hour!

How much are tickets?

Tickets are currently 20 per cent off if you book them online, making adult admission $35.20, and $20.80 for children (ages six to 12).

Squamish Canyon is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with last entry at 3 p.m. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome at the attraction at 2 p.m. each afternoon for Doggy Happy Hour, available for a limited time.
