5 exciting pop-up markets to look forward to in Vancouver this spring

The season of cherry blossoms and outdoor events is rapidly approaching, and there will soon be markets popping up across the city to celebrate. So whether you’re looking to check out a popular returning market or get a head start on the season a little early, here are 5 pop-up markets to look forward to in Vancouver this spring.

Vancouver Pop-Ups: Spring Market

From 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday, March 3rd, Heritage Hall is once again transforming into a local shopping experience, complete with over 40 artisans and vendors ranging from handmade jewelry and home decor to food and drink. This first market might be happening before the spring equinox, but there are more that are sure to follow.

Oh, and your furry friends are welcome too!

When: Sunday, March 3rd
Where: 3102 Main Street
Cost: Free admission

Vegan Night Market

Peaces’ Vegan Night Market kicks off on March 7th, with monthly markets to follow on the first Thursday of every month. The beloved plant-based, pet-friendly market will feature delicious eats and drinks, cruelty-free clothing and cosmetics, and much more.

While it’s still too early to talk vendors, the night market promises an “unforgettable evening” with “mouthwatering dishes crafted by local chefs.” And if last year’s markets are any indication, we’re in for everything from plant-based tacos and Chickpea fries to desserts.

When: Thursday, March 7th and every first Thursday of the month
Where: 1489 East Hastings Street
Cost: $4 minimum donation

Portobello West Roundhouse Spring Market

On Saturday, April 6th, visitors of Yaletown’s Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre can enjoy the next instalment of the Portobello West Roundhouse Spring Market. Here, you can treat yourself to some amazing finds from over 65 local BC makers.

When: Saturday, April 6th
Where: 181 Roundhouse Mews
Cost: $6.66 per adult (children 12 and under are free)

Got Craft Spring Market

This May, Got Craft is hosting a pet-friendly pop-up market at the Maritime Labour Centre, bringing together 80 local makers and small businesses. Here, visitors can also check out a Mini Makers Market with ‘kidpreneurs’ under the age of 16 years old, as well as an array of food trucks.

When: Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th
Where: 1880 Triumph Street
Cost: $5 for admission

Shipyards Night Market

The beloved Shipyards Night Market will be back starting May 10th with free outdoor markets every Friday. Market-goers can enjoy a delicious array of food truck eats, live DJ sets, and a beer garden.

When: May 10th to September 23rd
Where: The Shipyards, North Vancouver

So there you have it, Vancouver! Stay tuned for more pop-up markets happening in the area this spring.
