The spring equinox is coming up on Tuesday, March 19th (at 8:06 pm, to be exact), and there are a handful of events happening in Vancouver to celebrate the astronomical start of spring. So don your favourite spring attire and get ready to welcome the season of blossoms and sunnier days. Here are 6 ways to celebrate the spring equinox in Vancouver this year.

CACAO DANCE – Spring ceremony 

If you’re looking to jumpstart your weekend with a cacao ceremony, look no further than this one. And if you’ve never participated in one, now’s a great chance to immerse yourself in a relaxing ritual, all inspired by “the food of the Gods.” Cacao is known to open your heart and deepen your connection to the world, so participants are encouraged to bring comforts like a blanket or pillow to enhance their experience.

Spring Equinox Candle-Making Workshop 

This Sunday, March 17th, Raven’s Veil is hosting a special candle-making workshop to welcome spring. Kara Gilbertson of Astral Eye will share her knowledge on candle-making and magic, according to the event page. Included in the price of each ticket are all the materials you’ll need and a glass of wine.

Spring Equinox Public Sound Bath – 7 pm 

On Tuesday, March 19th from 7 to 8 pm, Chiron Acutherapeutics is hosting a public sound bath at the Dominion Building to ring in the spring season. Tickets are going fast, so if you’re interested – act quickly!

From 6:30 to 8:30 pm, there will be a sound and gong bath at The Sanctuary on West 2nd Avenue. Guests can expect 75 minutes of sound healing to clear stagnation and stress, and reset for the season ahead.
