A free holiday festival with ice skating & music is coming to North Vancouver this weekend

If you’re looking for a taste of the holidays in the Vancouver area, there’s no better place to start than the annual Spirit of the Season Festival, which transforms The Shipyards into a magical winter wonderland every year.

The iconic festival attracts visitors from all over the region with free cocoa, a holiday market at The Pipe Shop, festive ice skating performances, and of course, a 30-foot Christmas tree lighting.

Guests can kick off the season with a full afternoon and eve of ice skating at the plaza, meeting Santa and Mrs. Clause, and enjoying live performances on stage that the whole family will enjoy.

The Christmas tree will be lit between 4:15 pm and 4:45 pm at the foot of Lonsdale, led by Mayor Buchanan.
