New open-air block parties are coming to the iconic Shipyards Night Market this year

2026 is a big year for the iconic Shipyards Night Market, AKA North Van’s free-to-enjoy weekly spring and summer event. Not only can attendees look forward to more food trucks, participating breweries, and live performances this May, but the launch of an all-new block party series is set to bring even more fun to the area around Shipbuilders Square.

Founded in 2011 and produced by the Conifer Entertainment Society, the night market has grown to become North Vancouver’s signature free Friday night experience. The event celebrates local makers of all kinds, including food and beverage vendors at the outdoor beer garden.

Every Friday night, a new local artist or DJ takes the stage to keep the party energy alive all night long.

For the first time ever, the Shipyards Night Market will also feature a special “Street Edition” on select Fridays this June and July, bringing a series of open-air block parties to East 1st Street between Lonsdale Avenue and St. George’s Avenue. The new series will light up the neighbourhood, thanks to the efforts of the Lower Lonsdale BIA and multiple community partners.

This marks the start of an exciting new chapter for an already popular summertime event.

The Shipyards Night Market is officially back starting Friday, May 15, 2026, with weekly night markets on Fridays from 3 to 10 p.m. until Sept. 11, 2026.

So get excited, mark your calendars, and check back for more details about the new block party series to come.
