Have plans to head down to Pike Place Market soon? If you’re in the mood to eat after your shopping excursion, there’s a new spot in the market that you might just want to try. It’s called Shama and they focus on contemporary Moroccan cuisine.

Shama opened in March to a bright blue and beautifully tiled interior complete with a greenhouse-style outdoor eating area. They have a wide, upscale menu full of traditional Moroccan flavors combined with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Sounds like the perfect market addition doesn’t it?

The menu features a selection of salads, tagines, and mains like Carre d’agneau, M’rouzia and Couscous. If you’re planning on checking out Shama with family or a group of friends, you can also try Zarda which is Moroccan family-style dining served with sides. Psst, there’s also a selection of sweets like olive oil cake and halwa.

Of course, Shama also has a drink menu. You’ll find sparkling, white, and orange wines. And yes there are cocktails too. If you’d like to learn more about Shama you can head over to their website. If you plan on going don’t forget to make a reservation.
