Seattle’s most famous grunge music venue is moving after 29 years

It’s no secret that Seattle was a huge fixture in the grunge scene. After all, our city started bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam. And all of those bands played at one historic and beloved venue, The Crocodile. After 29 years, this world-famous venue is moving.

Obviously, the music industry and venues have been hit extremely hard by the pandemic. Unfortunately, The Crocodile is no different and has struggled to stay afloat these past few months. But the good news is that they will float on with a new and much bigger space. This means you can expect an amazing venue when we can all go back to seeing shows.

The new Crocodile is located in Belltown and has a 750 capacity showroom, 300 capacity small club, 96 seat comedy club, and an 18 room hotel. But that’s not all, they’ll also be partnering with an unnamed non-profit to foster the growth of future artists. Because let’s face it, Seattle is now a highly gentrified city and artists need all the help that they can get.
