Things To Do

8 Things to do in Seattle this Weekend (April 12 – 14)

Via @mariners

Hello again, Seattleites! We’re already hitting the mid-point of April (2019, can you please slow down?), which means we’re moving closer and closer to another Seattle summer. Sure, we might be stuck in the rainclouds right now, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to hide inside this weekend and not explore the city! We mean, we could, but we don’t have to! Especially when there are so many wicked events, experiences, and adventures to check out around town. With all of that in mind, here are 8 of the very best things to do in Seattle this weekend!

Ballard Brewed Spring Beer Festival

Just ’cause it’s wet outside doesn’t mean you can’t get out and wet your whistle! That’s precisely the goal of Ballard Brewed, and the goal of all eleven breweries participating!

When: Saturday, April 13 @ 2 PM and 5 PM
Where: Hale’s Ale Palladium, 4301 Leary Way NW
Cost: $30 – $40

BoneBat “Comedy of Horrors” Film Fest

Sitting at home and watching horror movies during rainy days < sitting at SIFF and watching horror movies during rainy days. Blood, guts, and laughs galore will be up on the big screen. It’s a great way to get in the cinematic mood prior to SIFF 2019, or just sate that appetite for gore that everyone has a bit of.

When: Saturday, April 13; 1 PM – 12 AM
Where: SIFF Cinema Uptown, 511 Queen Ave N
Cost: $35 – $45

Catch rock legends Kansas in concert

“Carry on, my wayward Seattleite” is what you might be hearing in your head if you miss out on this classic rock experience. They’ve been around forever, been immortalized through television and film, and will never, ever be just Dust in the Wind to us.

When: Saturday, April 13 @ 7:30 PM
Where: Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine Street
Cost: $47+

Local Fizz Fest

Maybe brews with a buzz are your style, but not the typical buzz people expect? Well, if you followed that convoluted mess of thought, then hopefully you’ll understand that we were talking about trying out some of Seattle’s locally made Kombuchas and Ginger Beers!

When: Sunday, April 14 @ 12 PM – 4 PM
Where: New Seasons Market Ballard, 951 Northwest Ballard Way
Cost: Free

Players Night at SPiN

What’s more intense than beer pong on a Friday night? Ping pong with beer, that’s what. Practically every week on Friday night, SPiN invites players from all over to challenge their pros, win prizes, jam out with their DJ, and have an all-around wicked time.

When: Friday, April 12 @ 10 PM
Where: SPiN Seattle, 1511 6th Avenue
Cost: Free

Earl Sweatshirt

The Odd Future mate and unapologetically unique hip-hop star will be laying a cool smackdown on the Showbox SoDo stage Sunday night. Yes, we are fans of alliteration- it happens when we’re excited, okay??

When: Sunday, April 14 @ 7 PM
Where: Showbox SoDo, 1700 1st Ave S
Cost: $32+

Seattle Restaurant Week

Well, it’s already started, but you definitely don’t want to miss the first weekend! Over 165 restaurants around town will be taking part in this prix fixe lunch and dinner series. Lunches will be dishing out two-course specials for $18, and dinners will be three-course $33 deals. It’s a pretty, pretty, pretty tasty thing to do in Seattle this weekend!

When: Until Thursday, April 18
Where: Participating Restaurants
Cost: Lunch – $18; Dinner – $33

Best of the Northwest

Billed as Seattle’s “premier spring art event”, Best of the Northwest features over 100 artists and vendors showing off their goods. It’s the 31st anniversary of this event, so if longevity = quality, we’d say this is a must-go for any art fan.

When: Saturday, April 13 @ 10 AM – 6 PM; Sunday, April 14 @ 10 AM – 5 PM
Where: Hangar 30 at Seattle’s Magnuson Park
Cost: $10

That’s our list of some of the best things to do in Seattle this weekend! Be sure to keep an eye on @curiocityseattle Instagram to stay up to date on everything Seattle-related. Cheers!
