Happy Sunday, Seattle! We hope that your weekend went well and that you’re ready for another round of things to do this week. Oh, you aren’t? Well too bad, we’re not accepting no for an answer this time around.

Here are 8 things to do this week in Seattle.

Seattle Queer Film Fest

This massive festival will have everything from artist talks to short film nights and the year’s most talked about queer films. One of our top picks is Beauty and Decay, a documentary looking at Berghain’s most famous bouncer.

When: On throughout the week
Where: Venues around Seattle
Tickets: Vary per event

Booktoberfest

It’s a weird trifecta, but it works! Experience a series of events centered around ‘books, beer and good cheer’. Think book focused karaoke, trivia nights, and spooky readings paired with delicious beer.

When: Events throughout the week
Where: Venues around Seattle
Cost: Varies per event

Flesh and Blood: Community Opening

This Thursday, you can go check out the Seattle Art Museum’s newest exhibition for free! Curious about what’s in the Capodimonte Museum in Naples? Well you’re luck, because they’ve lent SAM a bunch of pieces!

When: Thursday, October 17
Where: Seattle Art Museum
Cost: Free with RSVP

Refract

Celebrate America’s best glass blowers and check out the skill involved in creating glass art. From gallery tours to special exhibitions, this is a great opportunity to discover the history behind Seattle’s glass art scene.

When: Starts Wednesday, October 17
Where: Multiple Venues
Tickets: Vary per event

The Try Guys

The uber popular Youtube stars swing by Seattle this week. Learn about what it takes to try absolutely and everything that is offered to you. Then, you’ll finally have the courage to go, we don’t know, skydiving?

When: Thursday, October 17
Where: The Moore Theater
Cost: $37 and up

Jade Bird

Jade Bird is an authentic Americana singer. That means understated production, a powerful voice and catchy hooks combine to create a great sound. The fun twist? She’s British.

When: Friday, October 18
Where: The Showbox
Tickets: $20

Brewology

The Pacific Science Center is hosting their classic evening focused on craft beer, but with a couple of twists. The science demos are all Halloween themed, AND there is going to be a costume contest!

When: Friday, October 18
Where: Pacific Science Center
Cost: $50

Seattle Thunderbirds

With Seattle getting their own NHL team, we think it’s a great time to check out a little bit of WHL hockey. The Thunderbirds face off against the Brandon Wheat Kings (aka a team from a small town in the middle of Canada).

When: Friday, October 18
Where: accesso ShoWare Center, Kent
Cost: $18 and up

And there you have it! All of the things to do in Seattle this week. Even if you weren’t super excited for Monday, we feel like this list helps out a little bit. Catch out at the SAM for a free gallery experience.
