Remember the West Seattle Bridge? Yea, we also almost forgot. But how could we ever forget about yet another one of Seattle’s fantastic engineering failures? Anyway, engineering firm HNTB wants to repair the bridge instead of replacing it.

And while that might seem fine and dandy, a repaired bridge would only have another 15-40 years of life. But replacing the bridge is going to cost around $1-1.5 billion dollars. So either way, figuring out what to do with this bridge isn’t an easy fix. And a decision probably won’t be made anytime soon.

And HNTB wants to have this done by 2023 which seems a little crazy if you ask us. But hey, we’ll leave this one up to the experts. Because regardless of who wins the bid on this project, we have a feeling it’ll take a long time. After all, this is Seattle.

After all, it seems like they’re going for anything at this point.
