We have a winner! ‘Sinking Ship’ named America’s Coolest Garage

Add a trophy to the “titles we didn’t know we wanted until we won them” shelf, Seattle! According to the architecture and design publication, Architizer and UK parking site Looking4.com, the “Sinking Ship” parking garage in Seattle is the coolest parking spot in the country.
Previously, we mentioned that the Sinking Ship had been short-listed amongst the 10 coolest parking spots in the whole world. It finished 4th but was the only American parking garage that was ranked. Not bad!

Designed by the local architectural team of Mandeville and Berge (M&B), Sinking Ship Garage has become a favorite of tourists and homegrown Seattleites alike. Typically, a parking garage would be the least interesting building no matter its location, but M&B took it upon themselves to make this Seattle one shine.
So, let’s say thank you to M&B, the parking gods, and to the Sinking Ship itself! Heck, next time you stroll by make sure to enjoy this odd but very cool piece of architecture right here in Seattle. Cheers!
