The 2019 list of the most bike-friendly cities in America has been released, and Seattle once again has landed in the number 7 spot. The real estate firm Redfin compiled the data and provided the top 10 cities in the country for cyclists.

Redfin used four different metrics to determine its rankings. Bike lanes, hills, connectivity and ‘bike commuting mode share’ were all weighted equally. That last one tripped us up a little. But, it’s essentially ranking what percentage of commuters opt for biking.

Seattle came in with a score of 70 out of 100. That puts it on the same level as Boston and New York, so we’re pretty happy with how things turned out. Even if we could use a few more bike lanes here and there.

Surprisingly, Minneapolis landed in first place with a stunning score of 84. Apparently, the city has hundreds of miles of bike lanes and a very active cycling community. According to the report, it’s not uncommon to see cyclists out with goggles on their faces during the winter months.
