Education for students of all ages has changed a lot during the pandemic. And one thing that younger kids have really missed out on in the past year is field trips. So one Seattle teacher decided to take his class to the Woodland Park Zoo, virtually.

Mr. Talcott is a Seattle area teacher who is currently teaching virtual kindergarten. And his Instagram page is chock-full of amazing ways that he makes his virtual classes as interactive as possible. Because let’s face it, it’s hard for anyone to focus online but especially youngsters.

And chances are not many of them are getting to go to the zoo nearly as much as they used to. So Mr. Talcott brought his computer and live-streamed his walk around the zoo. Students got to see penguins, tapirs, and many more critters. We have to admit, we’re a little jealous.

It’s a really heartwarming video and if you need a pick me up this week it’s well worth watching. And while you’re at it, you might as well check out the rest of his videos. If we were Seattle area kindergarteners we’d be very happy to have Mr. Talcott as our teacher.
