Maybe it’s just us, but we were seriously confused when we looked at our phone today and saw an app called ‘Share Now’. We didn’t remember ever getting an app with that name, so what gives?

Well, turns out the car2go has partnered with Europe-based DriveNow, becoming a new car-sharing powerhouse- Share Now. Not only that, but the parent companies aren’t usually lumped together.

That’s because Daimler AG (Mercedes-Benz) owned car2go while BMW Group owned DriveNow. So, those that have the Share Now app will have access not only to Benzes and Smart Cars as per usual, but also a new fleet of BMWs and Minis.

Honestly, what’s the point of buying a car if we can rent either a BMW or a Benz for like a buck a minute? And we don’t have to worry as much about finding parking? It’s too good to be true.

That’s just us though. If you want to learn more about the Share Now app and how it affects existing car2go users (the answer is that it doesn’t really), you can click this link.
