There’s nothing quite like visiting a haunted place to put yourself in the spooky season mood, is there? Sure, 2020 has already been scary enough, but we love a good haunt during October and this year is no different. It just so happens that Seattle has some pretty spooky spots that are perfect for all you ghost hunters, thrill-seekers, and daredevils. So with that in mind, here are 10 haunted places you can visit in and around Seattle.
Pike Place Market
Surprise! Everyone’s favorite public market just so happens to also be pretty haunted. And specifically haunted by Chief Seattle’s daughter, Princess Angeline. So next time you’re at the market be sure to keep your eyes peeled because you might just see a friendly ghost.

Moore Theater
This beautiful theatre is a gem in our city and also regarded as one of the most haunted spots in the city. So while it may be a while until you can enjoy this theatre we recommend passing by to check it out. And of course, next time you go in be sure to look out for shadowy figures or Mr. Moore himself.

The Sorrento Hotel
This hotel is a favorite spot in the city for many Seattleites both living and dead it seems. And it’s been around for over 100 years! So next time you’re stopping by for a bite or drink be sure to check out the hotel as well. Because you might just see a few lost souls.

The Arctic Club
This beautiful and iconic Seattle building has a dark past. Because in case you didn’t know, US Congressman Marion Zioncheck leaped to his death from the 5th floor. So while that happened in the 1930s, some say he’s still around to this day.

Kells Irish Pub
This popular Seattle bar just so opened to have a different past as a former mortuary. So if that isn’t creepy enough, the bar is said to be haunted by at least a few spirits. And we’d imagine that if you stay for a few drinks you’ll be seeing more than 2.

Northern State Hospital
This abandoned mental institution has a dark past which includes lots of death as you may have guessed. And with that in mind, it means that you might just see a few souls left wandering the property. But do your research before you go because part of this campus is still active and you don’t want to get arrested for trespassing.

Lakeview Cemetery
Now we don’t know how haunted this place is but it does act as the last stop for at least a few famous people. So you can visit Bruce Lee, Brand Lee, and many many others at this beautiful Seattle cemetery. Not to mention, there’s nothing quite like a walk in a cemetery to put you in the spooky season mood.

Tacoma Old City Hall
If you plan on heading down south you can check out this building that appears to have a life of its own. And that’s because since the 1970s there have been many reports of noises, lights, and fire alarms going off by themselves. So go take a peek for yourself.

Starvation Heights Sanitarium
As you might have guessed by the name, this sanitarium had a dark past. In fact, the woman who ran the sanitarium believed illness could be cured by going on weeks or months-long fasts. Which resulted in the deaths of many patients who are still roaming the grounds today.

The Gessner Mansion
The last on this list is also affectionately known as the Georgetown Castle. But this spot has a dark past as a former brothel. Not to mention, several people have reportedly died on the property making it quite a spooky place. So next time you’re in the area be sure to stroll on by but do note that this is a private residence.
