We all know that nothing compares to the PNW. And while the US has plenty of wonderful states, we think it’s pretty safe to say Washington is near the top of the list across the board. After all, we’re a port city, a tech hub and we have both a rainforest and a desert all in one state. Well, Washington was just ranked the best state in the country, so it looks like we’re not the only ones who have noticed!
This ranking comes from US News, which is pretty prominent in the world of ranking countries, states, and more. Using 71 metrics across 8 different factors, Washington was ranked as the best overall state in the country for the second year in a row. The factors, or categories, across which states were ranked, include Opportunity, Infrastructure, Fiscal Stability, Economy, Education, Health Care, Crime and Corrections, and Natural Environment.

Washington ranked 4th in Education, 4th in Economy, 8th in Health Care, 3rd in Infrastructure, 25th in Opportunity, 6th in Fiscal Stability, 9th in Crime and Corrections, and 15th in Natural Environment.
Despite not having a great showing in a couple of the categories, it was still enough to have us come out on top.
