A massive seafood fest comes to Ballard this weekend

Heads up, seafood lovers, because a massive seafood festival is coming to Seattle this weekend. The Ballard SeafoodFest has been an iconic event since 1974, bringing together the best seafood that Seattle has to offer.

Here’s what to expect for 2019.

So far, there are over 60 food vendors that will be attending the festival. Expect everything from a salmon BBQ to lobster paella. Basically, we think you might want to fast the day before you go, since you’ll want to try everything.

Pair that with a beer and cocktail garden, and you could find yourself spending the entire day here.

Food isn’t the only thing going on, though. There are a ton of live music acts booked, plus arts and crafts available for sale. Plus, there will be a kids zone for the tykes to mess around in. After all, the Ballard SeafoodFest is a family-friendly event.

What we’re most looking forward to though is the lutefisk eating competition. There, the contestants will be challenged with eating up to 2 pounds of the Scandinavian dish.

Why are we most excited about this? Because it reminds us of Bobby Hill scarfing down an entire casserole dish of it.
