Home of the Week: Modern forest oasis designed by beloved Seattle architect
We know we’ve been going pretty big with our Home of the Week recently. So this week we thought we’d check out a home that’s just as spectacular but without the massive price tag. Because let’s face it, are there even buyers for the $10-$15 million homes we occasionally feature? Probably not.
Home of the Week: 11509 32nd Ave NE
This modern oasis is tucked away in North Seattle in the Chelsea neighborhood. And what makes this home extra special is the fact that it’s surrounded by greenery. So if you want to feel like a modern-day forest dweller, this might just be the home for you.
At 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 1,600 square feet it’s a great size. You’ll have space to live and make it homey without feeling overwhelmed by extra space. Now before we forget to mention, this home also happens to have been designed by Seattle’s beloved Ibsen Nelson. And while this home has been restored and reimagined with a second level, much of Nelson’s original charm is still there.
One of the most prominent features of this home is its blending of the outdoors and indoors. And that means you can expect lots of wood and also lots of light. This creates a very appropriately PNW vibe and we’re all about that.
Not to mention, this home has a pretty special outdoor space that includes a garden, patio, fire pit, and koi pond. Who says you can’t have it all? Certainly not this home and we love that. Because we know this will be the perfect oasis for someone.
