Sadly The Washington State Fair has been canceled this summer

Well folks it’s a sad day but we can’t say that we didn’t see this coming. So in case you haven’t heard, the Washington State Fair or Puyallup Fair has been canceled for 2020. And while we’re sad we agree that its cancelation is the best and safest thing for everyone involved.

After all, Coronavirus is worse in the US than it was when our numbers first spiked. So with that information in mind, having an event as large as the Washington State Fair just doesn’t make sense. Not to mention, Phase progressions have been paused due to rising Coronavirus numbers.

And keep in mind the fair would have only happened if Pierce County was in Phase 4. So clearly, that’s probably not going to happen anytime soon. But all is not lost. Because there will be a few fair food-to-go events, a drive-in concert series, and a drive-in movie night.

So if you’d like to learn more, you can click here. And while we’ll miss seeing all the cute livestock and riding all rides, we’re happy that safety is the number one concern. But we’re thinking we’ll have to head to that fair food-to-go event. Anyway, folks, next year, the fair will be back and better than ever.
