Fremont to host a Festivus for the rest of us this weekend
Thinking of getting some shopping done this weekend? Well then, you need to get down to the Fremont Festivus to check out the neighborhood’s best seasonal event. Here’s what you can expect.
Starting today at 5 PM, Festivus kicks off with Lenin Lighting and ‘traditional’ Festivus games. We don’t know exactly what that means, but we’re hoping they’re staying true to the canon. That means we will see, at the very least, the airing of grievances and the feat of strength. Hopefully, George is up to it this year.
Of course, that’s just one half of Fremont Festivus. The other half is a Holiday Bazaar, a market, and live music. Basically, you’ll get all of your Christmas shopping done while pretending that Christmas doesn’t exist. And, as a nice little bonus, there’s a bingo-style contest for visitors with gift cards available as prizes.
Sounds like the perfect way to get it out of the way. If you need us, we’ll be walking around with an aluminum pole. It’s going to be a good time, trust us.
When: Throughout the weekend
