The Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, once SEA-TAC now SEA, is about to get a massive facelift. The 1944 building’s C Concourse will soon be the airport’s gold standard. Can’t picture it? Let’s take a look at some of the newest renderings and dive into the details.
The expansion project is set to begin in mid-2023 with a construction set to be completed in 2027. The major aspect of this expansion is the addition of four floors above the existing building. The floors will add an extra 145,530 more square feet of dining, retail, and sought-after amenities.

Some of those amenities include an “Interfaith Prayer and Meditation Room and Nursing Suite, and an all-new, more than 20,000-square-foot Alaska Airlines Lounge.” The new space will be united by The Grand Stairs at C which are pictured above. The stairs will be a space for travellers to linger and enjoy seating, airfield views, music and art. If they need more, they can head upstairs for more elbowroom, dining and retail options.
While it will be several years before travellers can see the new and improved Concourse C, you can get an idea at SEA’s newly modernized N Concourse. Or if you’ll be travelling internationally, at the soon to open International Arrivals Facility. In the meantime, you can learn more about the changes at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at The Port of Seattle’s website.
