This week isn’t just any regular June week, it’s Margarita Week! Originally known as “Portland Margarita Week,” the event emerged in 2020 as a response to the impact of the pandemic on the hospitality industry. The event aimed to showcase local establishments, reignite community spirit, and raise funds for worthy causes. Luckily for all of us, it’s still around and doing just as much good, here’s where you can check it out in Seattle.
For a little context on the good the week-long event does, over the first two years, the event generated nearly $20,000 in donations for Team Brownsville and El Patajismo.
That’s thanks to attendees, as well as beverage industry giants like Bacardi and Brown Forman. These partners pledged to match every dollar raised from the sale of each margarita during the event. This year is getting even bigger and better with the addition of Grand Marnier as a partner.

This year’s participants include Percy’s, Bar Sabine, Arc Restaurant and Lounge, Fish Ladder Lounge, Flintcreek Cattle Co, Ozzie’s, Mountaineering Club, Bad Bar, Olaf’s, King’s Hardware, La Carta de Oaxaca, El Mezcalito and Civility and Unrest.
All in all, Margarita Week is a powerful reminder of the resilience and creativity within the hospitality industry. It’s also the perfect excuse to get out there and enjoy something new while supporting local bars and restaurants and a good cause. Enjoy!
