Guess what, Seattle?! There’s a beautiful city lake that’s getting a magical holiday makeover, and you don’t have long to wait to check it out. A tradition for over 40 years, the beloved Pathway of Lights at Green Lake is one of the biggest draws of the holiday season, and this year will be no exception.
The annual tradition transforms Green Lake into a winter wonderland, complete with thousands of glimmering candles, festive lights, live music, complimentary treats, and hot air balloon rides – weather permitting!
According to Seattle Parks and Recreation, the event is not only beautiful, but it also gives back. Non-perishable food donations will be collected during the event in collaboration with FamilyWorks. You’ll find three collection points near the performance areas.
Best of all, this event is totally free to attend and open to the public. No tickets are required, though there is an official event page where guests can choose to reserve their spots for free.
The magical experience takes place for one day only on Saturday, December 14th from 4:30 PM until 7:30 PM.
Note that parking will be extremely limited, so visitors are encouraged to carpool, bike, or transit over.
And that’s a wrap for now, Seattle. Mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy one of the city’s most beloved winter traditions!
