Here’s when daylight saving time ends this week in Seattle

Daylight saving time is coming to an end this week Seattle! Whether this year snuck up on you, or you’re ready to ‘fall back’ with gusto, here’s when you need to change your clocks.

Daylight Saving 2024

Unlike the start of daylight saving time (DST) in the spring, this time change is the one people tend to like.

On Sunday, November 3rd, 2024, you’ll gain an extra hour of sleep as the clocks shift 1 hour backward at 2 AM local time. It’s not bad news for the chillier months when dark mornings can make it tough to leave your comfy bed.

While most devices, like your phones and TVs, will reset automatically, make sure you change the time on your microwaves, ovens, and any decorative clocks or watches.

The Last Time Change?

Of course, you might remember the state of Washington is pushing to get daylight saving time abolished.

The state, along with California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho has formed a working group to propose legislation in their respective states to make the change.

So will this be the last time you have to change your lock? Unfortunately, probably not.

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Congress would have to approve such a change, and that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen any time soon. So you might have to fiddle with those clocks again in the spring, but don’t worry, it won’t be until Sunday, March 9th, 2025.

In the meantime, enjoy that extra daylight, but don’t forget to adjust your alarm!
