There’s a free Chinese Culture & Arts Festival in Seattle this weekend

Looking for something new to do or check out in Seattle this weekend? A Glimpse of China: Seattle Chinese Culture & Arts Festival is taking place this Saturday, and here’s what to expect.

The Seattle Chinese Culture & Arts Festival kicks off at 10:30n am on May 18th, and will run until 5:30pm at the Armory Food & Event Hall.

The festival is part of the Seattle Center Festál series, and it is free to attend.

“The festival explores traditional and contemporary influences of China, covering 5,000 years of history through folk dances, artwork, dance, and more,” state organizers.

Food vendors at this year’s festival will include: Himalayan dumplings from Nepal, Nuodle 牛一嘴, and Qin Xi’an Noodles.

There will be community booths and a vendor marketplace. And entertainment kicks off at 11:30 am starting with the Seattle Chinese Arts Group’s Waist Drum Performance.

Happy Dance Studio and Jingting Dance Group will both perform Chinese Traditional Dance, and there will also be the Chinese Dance Academy performing a Chinese Ethnic Dance.

You can also expect an interactive multicultural visual arts exhibition and displays from Chinese Arts & Music Association.
