Here’s why Seattle just ranked the best city for singles in the US

The holiday season can highlight loneliness for many people whether that’s being away from family or from simply being single. Alternatively, some people are perfectly happy being by their lonesome. Either way, the good news is that a new Wallethub study has ranked Seattle among the best cities for singles.

How great of a city are we? Apparently, we’re the best. Yep, Seattle ranked number one in the US for the best cities for singles. Let’s check out why.

WalletHub used 36 key indicators like the share of the population that’s single, the number of online dating opportunities, and the average cost of a two-person meal to rank 180 cities. These were the top 10 best cities for singles:

1. Seattle, WA

2. Madison, WI

3. Denver, CO

4. San Francisco, CA

5. Portland, OR

6. Minneapolis, MN

7. Austin, TX

8. Honolulu, HI

9. San Diego, CA

10. Atlanta, GA

Seattle received an overall score of 64.77, we were ranked as a very expensive city, coming 167th but did well in other categories like fun and recreation – 7th place and dating opportunities – 2nd place. We’ll let you decide how big of a surprise this ranking is.
