Finding food at the airport can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes, especially when you happen to be at a gate that has few options. But because this is Seattle and this city loves tech, Sea-Tac has come up with a solution. Get ready for meals on wheels because the airport is now using robot food delivery.

OrderSEA is Sea-Tac’s new mobile ordering service that links you with 16 of the airport’s restaurants. The service allows you to pick up food when you’re in a time crunch and it now includes gate delivery from Gita, the OrderSEA robot.

Both ordering options mean that you can get the food you want, when you want, without having to choose between making your flight and grabbing a bite. Oh, and you can order your food pretty much as soon as you get to the airport so that it’s ready at your gate.

Now you’re probably wondering, what’s the deal with Gita? The small but mighty robot can carry up to 40 lbs of food and will deliver food around the terminal for $2.99. For now, you can score eats from restaurants like McDonald’s, Mi Casa Cantina, and Trail Head BBQ and even more options will be added in the coming months.

If little Gita ends up being popular, there’s a chance that you could be seeing a whole fleet of these robots in the airport according to the Seattle Times. But for now you’ll see just one robot with a human escort following it through the airport. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled next time you’re at Sea-Tac and if you end up using the service be sure to take some pics.
