Mr. Frizzle might not welcome you aboard, but we still think a stay at this one-of-a-kind school bus Airbnb on Vancouver Island could be pretty magical. If you’re looking for a spot that’s a destination in and of itself, then we think this is right up your alley.

While there are other converted buses kicking around on Airbnb, we have to hand it to the owners for finding a retro, 1969 model once used for a nearby school district. And of course, more than its fair share of TLC has turned it into a pretty stunning guest house.

Naturally, space is a little limited here. However, it’s the perfect option for a couple, offering a queen-sized bed, couches to relax on, and a very pretty outdoor lounging area to relax in. After a day of hiking, we couldn’t ask for much more.

Amenities-wise, it’s right up the alley of a glamping experience. There’s no wifi, but you still get access to a shower with hot water, a composting toilet, and a kitchenette to make simple meals in. Thinking dining outside is the move? Throw some stuff on the BBQ instead!

As for the location, you can find this option close to Sooke, which is just some 30 minutes outside of Victoria. For us, it seems like the perfect option for a weekend getaway, or a stopover spot if you’re planning to road trip around the island a little bit.

Whatever your plans, keep this school bus Airbnb on Vancouver Island in mind this summer. We definitely think it’ll be just as fun as it is memorable!
