Ryan Reynolds’ most “favourite restaurant in the world” is in Vancouver

Well, that’s some seriously high praise from a Canadian icon. With the release of The Adam Project on Netflix, Ryan Reynolds said that his ‘favourite restaurant in the world’ is in Vancouver, alongside director Shawn Levy’s top picks.

Not going to lie about it, Levy’s answers were pretty standard for celebrity hot spots. He picked Vij’s (maybe the best Indian he’s ever had), Cioppino’s, and Tojo’s. They’re all incredible, don’t get us wrong, but they’re also some of the first places we’d go to to show off our city’s food scene.

Reynolds, on the other hand, had some much more specific picks. First up, he reflected on the (now shuttered, sadly) cafe he would visit when he was at Kitsilano Secondary School- Benny’s Bagels. Lucky for us, there’s still a wholesale operation in East Van.

But, maybe more importantly, he said that his ‘favourite restaurant in the world’ is Minerva’s, which has been a staple spot in Kerrisdale for decades. They’re known for pizzas, steaks, and classic Greek dishes, and now, they can add a pretty serious claim to their website. We would, at least.

Heck, maybe we should eat a nice meal there this weekend, after all, it’s high praise when Ryan Reynolds says that you’re his ‘favourite restaurant in the world’. Maybe we’ll watch The Adam Project at the same time, for a real double whammy.
