Get ready for a coast adventure, Vancouver, because this provincial park is one that will keep you on your toes with discoveries. Salt Spring Island is known for its island charm, scenic beaches, and exciting outdoor adventures – and Ruckle Provincial Park is a fantastic place to enjoy it all.
Easily one of the most beautiful parks in the southern Gulf Islands area, Ruckle Park has plenty of grassy space to pitch your tent and relax while watching boats and ferries sail by. And with 7 km of exposed shoreline to explore, you’re sure to spot a mix of marine critters, sea lions, river otters, and even killer whales out at sea. Plus, there are tidal pools filled with vibrant crabs, mussels, oysters, starfish, sculpins, and more.
There are nearly 100 campsites to choose from, with the majority being walk-in-friendly.

In addition to having prime paddling waters, scuba divers often frequent the park, drifting among “castle-like” caves floating above the ocean floor. Here, divers can spot an array of anemones, sponges, octopuses, sea stars, and giant barnacles.
Finally, if you’re looking for other places to check out while on Salt Spring Island, there are plenty of family-run farms, art studios, and local shops to uncover in the town’s downtown area.
Salt Spring Island is accessible by a quick flight from Coal Harbour or Richmond via Harbour Air or Seair Seaplanes. Alternatively, you can hop on a ferry to Long Harbour from the Tsawwassen terminal. The park is 10 km from the Fulford Harbour ferry terminal along Beaver Point Road.
