Well, folks, Vancouver just got a permanent outdoor space that’s been in the works for 50 years. We’re talking about the space between the Vancouver Art Gallery and the B.C. Law Courts. Otherwise known as Robson Square. Because now it’s a permanent plaza for all of Vancouver to enjoy!
If you’ve spent time downtown then you know this space is loved by many. You can see artists, skateboarders, and even protests here. This space which has long been utilized by the public is now officially for the public. The designation also completes the vision that acclaimed local architect Arthur Erickson held for the space when he designed it in the 70s.

Plus the new plaza will have moveable seating and tables, benches, as well as permanent seating. So you can say goodbye to the temporary plazas that once used the space. And we have to say we’re pretty dang excited because it’s a great place to meet up with friends downtown. And we’re sure it will be a community gathering space for many years to come.
