Richard Branson’s private island is open to visitors & here’s how much you can rent it for

With the rise of Elon Musk and other big names, we had almost forgotten about one of the true originators of the whole “I’m a billionaire, I do what I want” movement. Turns out, Richard Branson has been hard at work creating his own Caribbean paradise- a private island that costs tens of thousands of dollars a night to stay at.

Let’s say you drop around $10m on a private island, then countless more building some downright beautiful resort-style homes on it… Finally, after over a decade of work, you’re ready to start welcoming your guests, who are likely to be celebrities, moguls, and royalty. So where is their final destination? Moskito Island.

Honestly, it sounds like a destination in Scooby Doo, just at the highest possible level. Moskito Island is home to 3 sprawling estates that can accommodate anywhere from 14 to 22 guests at a time. Which does bring the exorbitant cost down, but you can still expect to spend at least $17,500 USD a night to sleep here in the ‘cheapest’ (used liberally) option. For all three? Well, that’s more like $61,500 a night. Yeesh!

And of course, you’ll get access to all the bells and whistles while you’re there, from a litany of watersports to custom meal plans to spa treatments. Basically, everything you could ask for, besides already being on a private island in the Caribbean.

Moskito Island, though? Really? At least its epic 125 acres, and its secluded unspoiled setting in the British Virgin Islands, makes up for the name.

Not that we could afford to stay there, anyway.
