Reminders of Him, based on the popular book by Colleen Hoover, is set to start production in Calgary on April 24. It will wrap up on June 13, and pre-production is currently underway.

The novel revolves around a young mother who returns home after prison to try to build a relationship with her daughter.

Vanessa Caswill is attached to direct the feature film. Caswill’s most recent project was 2023’s Love at First Sight, which was distributed by streaming giant Netflix.

Cast details about the project have also emerged, with Longlegs star Maika Monroe attached to the film alongside Tyriq Withers, who will soon be in projected hit films like I Know What You Did Last Summer and Him, a new Jordan Peele-produced horror filmaccording to The Hollywood Reporter.

This year is shaping up to be a hot spot for filming in Alberta, with tons of films and TV series picking up cameras around the province. A new movie released by powerhouse studio A24 is filming in Alberta at the moment, and it’s set to be the next feature from a rising local director in the horror scene.
