Over 10,000 pumpkins will light up the night sky for Halloween season in Calgary

Everyone’s favourite pumpkin-themed extravaganza is back for another year in Calgary — now this is Halloween.

With thousands of light-up pumpkin displays in a walk-through format at Winsport, Pumpkins After Dark is fun for the whole family.

While the displays themselves aren’t made of organic pumpkin materials, they can be accessed throughout September and October, right up until Halloween on Oct. 31.

There will also be professional pumpkin carvers positioned near the doors, showing off their skills with extravagant organic pumpkin designs.

What to expect

Pumpkins After Dark is the ultimate tribute to everyone’s favourite Halloween fruit: the pumpkin.

There will be multiple displays erected that honour the tradition of the Jack-o-lantern, with a stunningly spooky pumpkin archway at the helm.

This is a great event for kids that includes age-appropriate activities and plenty of “wow” factors. You can expect light dancers, pumpkin carvers, food trucks, a merch area, and character actors.

You’ll enjoy walking through the magical pathways, stationed with lit pumpkin sculptures along with music, sounds and special effects.

This year, there will be plenty of brand-new displays and Instagram-worthy photo ops. Free parking at Winsport and accessible transit options make it easier than ever to make this your family’s annual Halloween tradition.

If you’ve grown oh-so tired of the same old thing, join Pumpkins After Dark this fall and earn your place as king of the patch!
