Believe it or not, block party season is nearly here, with a handful of free and ticketed street parties planned for neighbourhoods across Vancouver this spring and summer. For one, Public Disco is back this year with four pop-up festivals, which kick off with a free block party on Granville Island in a few short weeks.
So break out your shiny disco wear and get ready to dance!
Taking place at Lot 55 behind Granville Island Brewing, the free festivities include live music all day long, including performances by Chi & Ro Lee, Delacru, La Zonida, Maxey b2b J Squeezy, and Table Tutors.
There will also be dance performances by Maria Belen, Amy, and Jamn Camrn, according to organizers.
The block party will feature a pop-up bar with tasty libations to sip on, including non-alcoholic options, social ‘hangout zones’, child-friendly activities (2 to 6 pm) by VIVA Entertainment, and a ‘Sparkle Station’ by Pattern Nation.
Note that the block party site will be on flat concrete with no stairs, and has access to a wheelchair-accessible washroom.
