The report analyzes Google search data from the past 12 months, separating the most-searched-for trails in Canada and the U.S.
In the U.S., the 2,190+ mile long Appalachian trail takes the cake, with the Skyline Trail in Banff National Park topping the list in Canada.
Alongside Banff, there are three trails in BC recognized for their natural splendour: Plain of Six Glaciers Trail and Iceline Trail at Yoho National Park, and Berg Lake Trail at Mount Robson Provincial Park.

According to the report, Banff’s Skyline Trail is the most popular hiking trail in Canada, with a monthly average of 12,100 Google searches, followed by the Plain of Six Glaciers Trail and Lake Agnes Trail in Banff.
In total, the average monthly Google search volume for all 10 trails in Canada is 8,460, with the most popular search times being spring and summer.
The good news? You don’t have to wait until spring rolls around to enjoy the trails at Yoho and Mount Robson Parks, as both are open year-round in BC. Just make sure you brush up on your hiking safety knowledge and current weather conditions before you go!
