Calling all Labubu and Skullpanda fans. The global designer toy brand behind some of the biggest characters around is finally expanding into Canada, and its first store has officially opened its doors in Metro Vancouver. Yes, we’re talking about Pop Mart!
The brand collaborates with renowned artists from across the world to create (or popularize) lovable designer toys that are every collector’s dream. In the case of the infamous Labubu, Pop Mart worked with Kasing Lung, a Hong Kong-born artist who was inspired by the folklore of the Netherlands to create Labubu and The Monsters in 2015.
Located at Richmond Centre, the new Vancouver Pop Mart marks the company’s first foray into its third North American market.
With retail locations in over 30 countries, few haven’t heard of something to come out of Pop Mart, even if they don’t know the brand by name.
Vancouver shoppers can now check out beloved toy characters like Labubu, Crybaby, Skullpanda, Molly, Twinkle Twinkle, and Dimoo, to name just a few. And pretty soon, yet another Pop Mart store will open in Vancouver, so stay tuned for the details on that.
By early 2026, Toronto’s first Pop Mart store will open, marking the next step in the global entertainment IP brand’s rapid Canadian expansion.
“Canada has always been a priority for Pop Mart,” says Luis Barrientos, executive vice president of business development for Pop Mart Americas. “We’ve seen incredible demand across social media and our e-commerce platform. This launch is about meeting that demand with immersive, in-person experiences that celebrate creativity and community. We’re thrilled to now be on the ground in Vancouver with more stores coming soon.”
Pop Mart’s first Canadian store is now open at Richmond Centre (6551 Number 3 Rd., Space 1598B), offering shoppers the chance to discover interactive displays, blind box collectible drops, and a wide selection of fan-favourite characters.
To celebrate the opening, Pop Mart will offer exclusive gifts with purchase, special promotions, and unique in-store displays, so make sure to check back for those details.
