According to PNE’s website, seasonal Playland jobs are posted in March and the first round of successful applicants are invited for interviews from March to April. So if working at Playland sounds like a blast, you’ll want to apply sooner rather than later!

Currently, they’re looking to hire over 200 people to join their Games, Rides, Guest Experience, Playland Maintenance, and Food & Beverage teams, according to a recent Instagram post.

Working at Playland

Seasonal roles start at $17.60 an hour, but it’s the perks that make these worthwhile. Seasonal employees can enjoy discounts on passes to Playland, The Fair, and Fright Nights, as well as all the PNE food stands! Oh, and a completely free evening at Playland during Employee Family Night!

Employees also get access to free parking and gift card rewards, as well as career growth opportunities and promotions.

Working at the Fair

As for later in the summer, the Fair at the PNE will have its own hiring surge. Every year, the PNE hires over 1,300 people to work during the last two weeks of summer at the Fair, which brings a ton of exciting performances, games, & food to the PNE for the ultimate summer sendoff. Interviews for these jobs are held in July, with work available from mid-August to Labour Day.

Other jobs

As well, the PNE is hiring 25 other part-time, full-time, and contract positions across its departments, and many with benefits. Here are just a few you can find on the careers page:

If you’re considering applying to work at Playland, you must be available at least 3 to 4 days per week (including evenings & weekends) from June 3rd to September 4th.

Note that employees hired for the Playland season will also be required to work on select dates in October for the Fright Nights season.

And that’s a wrap on some fun summer jobs to check out in Vancouver this year. Best of luck!
