Ontario’s new low-cost airline to Europe takes off & flights start at $129

Want to do your Euro trip on a budget this summer? Well, you’re in luck because the new low-cost airline PLAY is now flying from Ontario to cities around Europe for cheaper than your grocery bill.

Starting this Friday, June 23rd, passengers can catch their low-cost flight to Europe from John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport.

The flights are now running daily from Hamilton to Iceland and cities all over Europe.

The airport is located just one hour from downtown Toronto and 45 minutes from Pearson International Airport.

To celebrate its launch in Ontario, the airline is having a 25% off sale until 11:59 AM this Sunday, June 25th.

You can get the deal on flights to Iceland, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stockholm, London, and Dublin with the code PLAYCANADA.

With the deal, flights start at just $129 before taxes and fees. The sale applies to travel dates between October 2023 and March 2024.

For those who don’t know, PLAY is a new low-cost transatlantic airline that has been operating flights between Iceland and Europe, and North America since 2022.

PLAY operates from its hub at Keflavik Airport in Iceland, which is “perfectly positioned” between the two continents, according to the airline.

It’s described as a “streamlined, no-frills service” without features like wifi and entertainment, allowing the airline to shave down the cost of their tickets.

The service may be basic, but it’s efficient. After transporting 800,000 passengers across Europe and North America, PLAY boasted an on-time arrival rate of over 96%.
