A pickleball court and lounge just opened for a limited time in Toronto

The sport that has seemingly taken over the world, pickleball, is making a splash in Toronto, and I, for one, am pumped about it. The Well, Toronto’s popular shopping centre with everything from fitness studios to stores to restaurants, is adding a pickleball court and lounge for a limited time. You can chill with friends or hit the court; either way, it’s coming!

The space is being opened by Pickleplex, a Canadian-born and operated organization, “born from a simple love for pickleball and a big dream to create a place where everyone — no matter their background or skill level — has a place to play on the court.”

“What started as a passion project quickly turned into the fastest growing and largest network of pickleball facilities in Canada,” shares Pickleplex.

The spot will be a pop-up, including a single court plus a lounge “where anyone waiting can relax before hitting the court.”

No paddle? No problem. Pickleball paddles will be available to rent on-site.

Courts cost $40 an hour to rent, while paddles are an additional $5. Courts are available to rent now, with the pop-up open until May 4, 2025 – the perfect time to practice before the outdoor courts start opening around the city.

As for court hours, for the entire duration of the pop-up, these are the times you can book:

  • Mondays from  9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Tuesdays to Sundays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Grab your pickleball partner, and don’t forget to reserve your spot ASAP, Toronto.

When: Open from now until May 4, 2025
