With Calgary’s big temperature swing this week, here’s how to enjoy the warmer weather

After a long stretch of unpredictable weather, Calgary is finally in for some warmer weather this week, and it’s the perfect excuse to get outside and enjoy the outdoors.

According to Environment and Climate Change Canada, temperatures are expected to significantly rise over the next few days, with temperatures hitting about 17°C.

If you’re looking to soak up the sunshine this week, we’ve rounded up some of the best outdoor activities to enjoy in the city.

Take a walk along Calgary’s scenic pathways

One of the best ways to take advantage of the warmer weather in Calgary is by going for a stroll along one of the many scenic pathways the city has to offer.

Whether you’re in the mood for a walk along the river or a short hike where you’re surrounded by mountain views, there are plenty of spots to explore.

Spots like Edworthy Park and Confederation Park are great to check out if you’re looking for an escape within the city. You’ll be surrounded by running creeks and quiet trails, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing day out.

Play disc golf at Baker Park

If you’re looking for an activity that’s a little off the beaten path, head over to Baker Park and try your hand at disc golf. With multiple courses to play on, it’s the perfect place to go with friends and family to enjoy a few hours of spring sunshine

Cycle around the Glenmore Reservoir

Want an activity that’s equal parts fun and scenic? Hop on your bike and head over to the Glenmore Reservoir loop.

The path is scenic and beginner-friendly; it wraps around the water and offers stretches of open green space. On a clear sunny day, you can even catch gorgeous mountain views in the distance. Whether you’re going for a solo ride or bringing a friend, this loop is a great way to get moving and enjoy the spring season.

Visit the Calgary Zoo/Wilder Institute

The Calgary Zoo offers a full day of discovery and adventure for all ages. Walk through the exhibits, admire the gardens, and catch all the animals in action. With so much to see and do, it’s an easy choice for an outdoor adventure.

Play mini putt at The Harvest Hills Golf Centre

Mini putt at Harvest Hills Golf Centre is officially open for the season, and it is a great way to enjoy some outdoor fun. The course is open every day from 9 a.m to 9 p.m. and putters, balls, and scorecards are all included, so you can enjoy a relaxed round of golf with your family and friends.
