A giant outdoor scavenger hunt is coming to Calgary with a big prize

The Outdoor Scavenger Hunt Competition is turning The Confluence into a real-life game board this August. So if you’re the type of person who loves a little friendly competition, solving puzzles, or proving you have the sharpest eyes in the group, this is your chance to put those skills to work.

Teams will spend one hour racing through Calgary neighbourhoods, hunting for clues and trying to beat the clock before anyone else.

Think you’re ready to take on the challenge? Let’s take a look at what you’ll be searching for once the hunt begins.

What to expect during the Outdoor Scavenger Hunt Competition

The one-hour scavenger hunt will take place at The Confluence, sending teams of two to five players across the 40-acre space between East Village and Inglewood as they work together to uncover hidden details and complete challenges along the way.

Grab your family, friends or coworkers and get ready to put your detective skills to work because you’ll need more than just luck to come out on top. Teams will need to have great communication and be able to think quickly. After all, the smallest clue could be the thing that helps your team pull ahead of the competition.

And of course, no competition would be complete without a prize worth fighting for. According to The Confluence, the winning team will not only walk away with some serious bragging rights, but they’ll also score a private movie screening for up to 100 guests at the Burnswest Theatre.

How to join the Outdoor Scavenger Hunt Competition

The Outdoor Scavenger Hunt Competition is happening on Sunday, Aug. 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The competition is open to participants ages 16 and up, and teams of two to five players can join for just $25. Teams can register and purchase tickets online ahead of time, with registration closing on Thursday, Aug. 6.

So grab your favourite people, get your game face on, and see if your team can crack the clues before everyone else. Even if you don’t finish in first place, you’ll still spend an afternoon uncovering parts of Calgary that most people never stop to notice.

Good luck!
