Hop to it, spring chickens! Another long weekend is nearly here and whether it be relatives, close friends, or your special someone, this upcoming stat is the perfect opportunity to make food, make memories and have some fun with the people you love! For this reason, it’s mighty important to know what’s going to be open and closed on Good Friday in Edmonton this year.

Take note, adventure seekers and errand doers. Here’s what you need to know ahead of April 7th, 2023!

Looking to do something fun with the kiddos? The Edmonton Valley Zoo will also be open this Good Friday and will make for a great family outing, especially for those with kids!

Where: 13315 Buena Vista Road

GROCERY & LIQUOR STORES

Need milk, beer or a last-minute ham? You’re in luck. Though (again) we’d recommend checking your local stop hours, most liquor and grocery stores will be open on holiday Friday.

TELUS WORLD OF SCIENCE

Science rules! This Good Friday, check out some amazing family-friendly exhibitions, a movie inside the IMAX, or a light show in the Zeidler Dome at Telus World of Science!

EDMONTON TRANSIT

While transit will be operational on Friday, April 7th, Trains and buses will run on their Sunday schedule. Please plan ahead, Edmonton!

CLOSED

EDMONTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

Hoping to grab a book this long weekend? Unfortunately, for all of you reading worms, it’ll have to wait. The Edmonton Public Library will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

PARKING

Good news errand do-ers! As per their website, no payment is required for on-street parking in Edmonton on Friday, April 7th, 2023, due to the stat holiday.

COSTCO

While grocery and convenience stores will be open this Friday, Costco will be unshoppable this Good Friday – Looks like you’ll have to get your massive hot dog fix before April 7th.

But there you have it, friends. Everything that’s open/closed this Good Friday in Edmonton.
